Mission Statement
North Shore Civil War Roundtable is a non-profit organization whose goal it is to meet in good fellowship and expand our knowledge of the American Civil War. We gather monthly to hear presentations by experts in the field. As often as possible we ask authors, historians and Roundtable members to speak at these meetings. Our membership numbers more than 100. We sponsor a yearly battlefield tour, issue a monthly newsletter, "Drumroll", and contribute to a variety of Civil War organizations including the Civil War Trust and their efforts to preserve what is left of our nations Civil War Battlefields.
Beginning in January, our monthly meetings, book signings and presentations will be held at the beautifulSouth Huntington Public Library. Our meetings are free to all and begin at 7 PM. Over the past sixteen years we have had the very best. James McPherson, Bud Robertson, Tony Horwitz, Stephen Oates, Noah Trudeau, William Davis, Mort Kunstler and Don Troiani are only a few of the authors, historians and artists that have come to speak to us. C-Span has televised three of our meetings.
